Bearsden Nursery

Kirktonholme Childcare – Bearsden Nursery is a quality childcare provider, we believe in providing the very best care and learning for your child. Kirktonholme Bearsden provides a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment with all four playrooms being bright and airy and decorated to a very high standard. We have our Ladybirds (0-18 months), Caterpillar and Bumble Bees Room (18months -3 years old) and Busy Bugs playroom (3-5 years old). The nursery is open weekdays from 8 am – 6 pm and we offer full daycare. Children have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy two-course lunch which is produced on-site. Children, parents and staff are consulted on the menu. We cater for all dietary requirements and provide fresh fruit with all snacks.

At Kirktonholme Bearsden, all staff in the under three playrooms work with the Pre-birth to Three Document, where much emphasis is put on the four principles – Respect, Rights of the Child, Responsive Care and Relationships all of these principals we work to provide a caring and nurturing environment for your child.

Staff in the Busy Bugs room work with the Curriculum for Excellence where all aspects of children’s learning are responsive to the child’s developmental needs and this is incorporated through play-based experiences

We have an excellent outdoor play area for all ages within the nursery grounds, which allows children to explore the wonders of nature. The children are encouraged to take the curriculum outdoors daily and in all weather conditions, letting them experience rain, snow, wind and sunshine (when the opportunity arises).

We believe children should have many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and learning experiences should be as valuable as indoor learning. Our younger children have their designated area and a variety of quality outdoor resources.

The Nursery has an open-door policy and parents are encouraged to use this free to make comments, suggestions and to discuss their children’s progress. We actively encourage continual communication between parents and the nursery to ensure the time your child spends at the nursery is a happy and enjoyable experience. Parents are kept informed through daily discussions, daily diary sheets, newsletters and parent’s evenings. When settling your child at nursery, we work very closely with your baby/child and the parent to ensure the transition from home to nursery is a smooth transition. It is important for us to develop excellent relationships between parents and staff as this enables children to move happily between home and nursery.

Reviews

We are very pleased with the nursery. The staff and management are very attentive, know all the kids by their names and clearly work as a team, with kids' welfare in mind as a priority. Kids get fed at the nursery and there's a lot of variety in terms of meals which helps our son get used to different tastes. He is making steady progress in his learning, development and vocabulary due to the variety of activities and experiences.

I have always been happy with the care provided to my son, staff are loving and caring towards the children and it gives me peace of mind leaving my son in a safe environment. My son loves the nursery.
