Visit our free crèche. We cater for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years providing a friendly stimulating environment for up to 10 children. We welcome you from 8- 6pm Monday to Friday.  Children can stay for a maximum of 4 hours, either on a drop in or pre booked basis.

Whilst your child/ren are being cared for by fully qualified childcare staff, you will have peace of mind to:

1. Enjoy a guided tour which includes a behind-the-scene peek into day-to-day parliament life
2. Watch Parliamentary business live in the chamber or committee rooms
3. Meet with an MSP or member of staff
4. Take part in the parliament’s business meetings
5. Attend one of the Parliament’s events
6. Or just enjoy a visit to exhibitions, visit the gift shop or enjoy a coffee in the café

About the crèche

The crèche facilities are made up of two playrooms, children’s toilets, nappy changing facility and kitchen to prepare healthy cold snacks and warm bottles.

Children will have the opportunity to express themselves through a variety of planned resources updated on a weekly basis. These include:

• Arts and crafts ,painting, gluing, Playdough and gluck  
• Sand and water play
• Construction toys including Mobilo, Duplo, Stickle bricks, Meccano and more
• Imaginative area for children to express themselves through music, puppets, role play and a variety of small world environments
• Age appropriate games and jigsaws
• Story corner
• Home corner so children can investigate a variety of everyday technology including washing up, ironing and vacuuming
• Our growing area where children have the opportunity to plant and care for living things
• Physical play on bikes, in tents and tunnels and an activity gym
• Baby area providing a safe environment for babies to explore a range of stimulating toys
