Kirktonholme Nursery is proud to announce their wins at the 2nd annual Scottish NMT Nursery Awards!

Winners of the Scottish NMT Nursery Awards 2015 were presented with their trophies by Hardeep Singh Kohli at the high profile Gala Night held on Wednesday 2nd September at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, attended by 400 guests.

Scottish NMT Nursery Awards 2015 is an annual event organised by Nursery Management Today, the leading business publication in the nursery sector and sponsored by key companies providing services in the sector. There are 11 categories: Nursery Product/Innovation ’15, Nursery Group of the year ’15, Individual Nursery ’15, Nursery Manager ’15, Nursery Team ’15, Nursery Newcomer ’15, Nurse/Childcare Worker ’15, Nursery Outdoor Learning Environment ’15, Nursery Indoor Learning Environment ’15, Nursery Training & Development ’15, Nursery Personality ’15.
There were four or five finalists in each category and two independent judges.

The judges chose Kirktonholme because they demonstrated their environment delivers “what children actually want to learn.” The environment promotes versatility and is stimulating, exciting and enriching whilst engaging children’s interest. A staff ethos of “if we get bored our children get bored.”

The judges chose Kirktonholme because they demonstrated high levels of innovation at all levels throughout the settings plus strong networking with local care inspectorate. Parents attend staff training events and they are passionate about getting it right for every child right from the beginning, offering play and stay settling in sessions to build strong relationships. The group has a constantly developing relationship working with parents, staff and management developing a new app to access information.


We were also finalists in the following categories:

NURSERY GROUP 2015

This award is open to nursery groups with three or more Scottish settings and will recognise a forward-thinking group which has shown outstanding success in delivering high quality childcare, well-trained and motivated staff, inspirational values & focus across the group.

NURSERY TEAM 2015

This award will go to the staff team that has developed an excellent standard of childcare and education through exceptional group work. The team will demonstrate outstanding values and a commitment to working together for the common good.

NURSERY INDOOR LEARNING ENVIRONMENT 2015

This award will be won by the nursery which has created an environment that most inspires and excites children. It will have displays that actively involve children in their learning, as well as celebrating their achievements.
