Situated on the ground floor of an old style house within private grounds Kirktonholme @ Fairhill Nursery enjoys an environment surrounded by an extensive outdoor area and natural wildlife.
The building was extensively refurbished in August of 2006 and is divided into 3 main sections which are used by babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Our babies needs are cared for within the Rainbow room. The busy bee room is where our toddlers engage in a wide variety of activities. In the sunshine room is where you will find our pre-school children engaging in life experiences which will help to prepare them for school.
Babies and young children need very special consideration and individual care. At Kirktonholme the specially designed baby room is bright and homely ensuring a warm and stimulating surrounding for your baby to grow and develop. It has equipment and resources to promote a wealth of experiences for young exploring minds, in a warm, safe and bright environment.
Our caring staff will provide you with verbal and written information on your child’s session and will enjoy sharing their experiences ensuring the very best for you and your baby.
In our Busy bee room your child will be introduced to a whole new stimulating environment. The room is split over two sections consisting of the main room and the conservatory. Throughout both sections your child will expand their knowledge and independence through positive role models, praise, encouragement and various activities.
Our supportive and experienced staff will encourage and praise your child throughout their new discoveries and achievements, whilst providing you with regular information about your child’s development
The sunshine room is divided into 3 sections. These consist of the messy room, the quiet room and the computer room. All three rooms reflect the areas of the curriculum and offer the children an extensive range of activities.
Following the Curriculum Framework for Children 3 – 5 and the new emerging Curriculum for Excellence outcomes, your child will learn through a mixture of free choice play and organised activities. Other activities which our older children engage in consist of the ‘Eco-schools’ Programme and a ‘Pen pal programme’. These programmes along with all the activities within our establishment help our children to become confident individuals, effective contributors, successful learners and responsible citizens and enabling them to reach their full potential.
The Sunshine room professional staff will support and encourage your child’s development, preparing them for a smooth transition into full time school.
Our nursery has an open door policy for both staff and parents. This helps to provide staff and parents with the confidence to approach the nursery at any time with any questions or queries that they may have.
The nursery management would like to take this opportunity to invite any one interested in a place for their child to contact us and arrange a suitable time for you to see our nursery for yourself.
